Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to ensure complete peace of mind when purchasing, and the ultimate listening experience with Blue Aura products.

Products & Compatibility

Is it normal for the v50 amplifier valves to get very hot during use?

Yes, it is perfectly normal. Valves operate through thermionic emission and naturally produce heat. It is recommended to maintain at least 10‑15 cm of clear space above the amplifier to ensure proper ventilation.

What is the lifespan of the valves in the v50 amplifier?

The Blue Aura v50 is a hybrid valve amplifier. In this device, the valves operate in the preamp section, helping to create a warm, natural and musical sound, without being subjected to the stress typical of all-valve amplifiers.

Thanks to this configuration, the lifespan of the valves is generally between 5,000 and 9,000 hours of listening.

With normal, even daily use, several years can pass before they need to be replaced.

The replacement process is extremely simple and does not require complex adjustments.

Furthermore, the valves used are easily available on the market and are very affordable.

In short:
The charm of valve sound combined with the reliability and practicality of a modern amplifier.

Can the v50 & AT700 system be connected to a television to improve its audio?

Certainly. Although the system is optimized for high-fidelity music, you can easily connect it to your television using the TV's headphone output and the v50's rear AUX port.

The 3.5mm mini‑jack cable is included in the box, allowing you to immediately enjoy a much richer, warmer and deeper sound than the small speakers integrated into the TV. Alternatively, if your TV allows it, you can connect via Bluetooth.

Our advice:
This setup is an excellent alternative to traditional soundbars for those seeking superior sound quality, even for movies. If you want even more impact for your home theatre, you can add the
Blue Aura X‑Sub subwoofer to the amplifier's dedicated output.

Is it possible to adjust the tones (bass and treble) on the v50 amplifier?

Yes, the Blue Aura v50 allows for precise control of the sound output via the remote control. You can adjust bass and treble with a precision of 11 levels down (-11) and 12 levels up (+12). The amplifier also has a "Reset" function (by holding down the Mute button for 5 seconds) to return to neutral settings; please note that resetting will also clear existing Bluetooth pairings.

Can I connect my turntable to the v50 amplifier?

Yes, but it depends on the model you have.

The Blue Aura v50 does not have a dedicated phono input.

To connect a turntable directly to your amplifier, it must have a built-in phono stage.

This is the case, for example, with our Blue Aura PG2, which can be connected directly to the v50's RCA input.

If your turntable does not have a built-in phono stage, you will need to use an external phono stage between the turntable and the amplifier.

This way you can listen to your vinyl records with all the musicality and sonic character of the Blue Aura v50 amplifier.

How do you properly adjust the tonearm counterweight on the PG2 turntable?

Correct counterweight adjustment is essential to achieve the recommended tracking force of 2.5 g and protect your vinyl.

Watch the video tutorial below
for a step-by-step guide on how to adjust the tonearm counterweight of the Blue Aura PG2.
The video also includes additional helpful steps for proper turntable setup.

My PG2 platter doesn't spin when I move the selector to "START", is this normal?

Yes, this is perfectly normal.
The Blue Aura PG2 features a semi-automatic (Auto-Stop) function to preserve the motor and stylus.

The platter does not start spinning immediately after turning the selector to "START."
Rotation begins only when you manually move the tonearm over the record. Similarly, the platter will automatically stop spinning when the tonearm reaches the end of the record.

How can I reduce external vibrations affecting the sound of the PG2 turntable?

Low frequencies produced by speakers can be transmitted to the furniture and cause the turntable chassis to vibrate, thus risking the tonearm skipping during playback. Although the Blue Aura PG2 is equipped with isolation feet, we recommend placing the turntable on a heavy and stable support, decoupled from the surface on which the speakers are placed, to ensure smooth and uninterrupted playback.

Does the PG2 turntable require a specific mat?

The Blue Aura PG2 turntable comes with a felt mat designed to optimize grip and reduce vibrations. However, true enthusiasts can further enhance the sound isolation by using cork or leather mats, which offer a different sound signature and better static management.

Why is no sound coming out of the RCA outputs on my PG2 turntable?

A crucial technical detail: the RCA output of the integrated preamplifier only works when Bluetooth is deactivated. The internal circuit prioritizes wireless transmission when it is active.

To restore wired sound:

1. Locate the Bluetooth switch: it is on the back of the turntable (not to be confused with the main ON/OFF switch).

2. Deactivate it: switch it to the "OFF" position.

3. Check the LED: the indicator light on the top of the chassis will change from blue (Bluetooth active) to red (Bluetooth deactivated).

4. Once the LED is red, the audio signal will be correctly sent to the RCA outputs and to your amplifier.

How long does the PG2 turntable cartridge last?

The standard custom MM (Magneto Mobile) cartridge has an estimated lifespan of approximately 400-500 hours of listening. Beyond this point, the diamond's precision diminishes, risking degrading the sound or damaging your vinyl.

Is it possible to replace only the stylus (needle) of the PG2?

Technically, the stylus can be removed, but the manufacturer does not provide an official replacement part for the tip alone. For this reason, the entire cartridge needs to be replaced. Since changing the complete assembly modifies the original parameters, a new manual calibration will be necessary. For this purpose, a two‑point alignment protractor is included in the turntable package, specifically designed to help you correctly adjust the new cartridge and ensure optimal playback without damaging your records.

Which models can I use to replace the original stylus, and can I use one with an interchangeable stylus?

Certainly. Although the original cartridge's stylus is technically removable, the manufacturer does not supply a replacement stylus alone. For this reason, in case of wear, the entire cartridge must be replaced.

However, the Blue Aura PG2 is designed to accommodate standard universal cartridges that allow for the replacement of the stylus only, thus facilitating future maintenance.

  • MM Type (Moving Magnet):
Fully compatible with the integrated phono stage.

  • MC Type (Moving Coil):
Requires an external phono stage with a dedicated MC input.

Safety note: If using an external phono stage, remember to move the switch on the back of the turntable to "PHONO".

Technical note:
The new cartridge must have a standard 1/2-inch mount and support a tracking force (VTF) compatible with the tonearm's specifications.
For installation, always use the two‑point alignment protractor included in the package.

Do the AT700 speakers need to be angled towards the listening position?

Yes, angling the speakers slightly towards where you usually sit (toe-in) significantly improves the accuracy of the soundstage and the clarity of the high frequencies. Experiment with different angles until you hear a clear, well-defined central voice.

Are Blue Aura speakers compatible with my TV?

Not directly.
The AT700 speakers are passive, which means they do not have a built-in amplifier and cannot be connected directly to the TV output.

To make them work and connect them to your TV, you need an amplifier like the v50.

Once connected to the amplifier, you can connect the latter to the TV in two ways:

  1. 3.5 mm mini-jack cable (included):
by connecting the TV's headphone output to the v50's rear AUX input.

  2. Bluetooth:
If your TV supports wireless audio transmission.

And the subwoofer?
The X‑Sub is active. However, it is not designed to be connected directly to a television; to function correctly, it must be connected to a dedicated output (Sub‑Out), such as the one found on the v50 amplifier.

Our advice: To improve your TV's audio with valve quality, we suggest you consider our pre-configured sets.

Visit our page dedicated to Blue Aura Hi‑Fi Systems to discover solutions that already include an amplifier and ready-to-use speakers.

Where should I position the Blue Aura X‑Sub for the best bass performance?

The ideal placement is at the front, near the main speakers, to ensure natural sound integration.

Alternatively, an excellent solution is along a side wall, aligned with the listening position.

In both cases, avoid pushing it completely against the wall: always leave a few centimetres of space to allow the rear port (bass reflex) to "breathe". This prevents excessively boomy bass and ensures a tighter, more defined sound.

The Blue Aura X‑Sub goes into standby mode too often, what can I do?

Make sure that the "Sub Out" level from your amplifier is sufficiently high.

If the signal is too low, the subwoofer may not detect it.

If possible, turn up the amplifier output volume slightly and turn down the physical volume at the back of the Blue Aura X‑Sub to compensate.

What is the purpose of the port marked "ONLY FOR WSR WIRELESS RECEIVER" on the back of the Blue Aura X‑Sub?

This port was exclusively intended for the proprietary wireless receiver (WSR), which has unfortunately been discontinued by the manufacturer. This accessory is therefore no longer available.

How to connect the subwoofer: To use the subwoofer, use the standard RCA cable provided. Connect the "Sub Out" port of your amplifier to the RCA "LINE IN" input on the back of Blue Aura X‑Sub, specifically using the L (Left) port.

Since the supplied cable is a stereo RCA type (with two connectors) but the subwoofer is a mono component, only the left channel (L port) needs to receive a signal from your amplifier. Therefore, you can also perfectly use a Mono RCA cable (with a single connector at each end).

Warning:
Do not connect other USB devices (such as dongles or Bluetooth adapters) to the WSR port, as they are not compatible.
